Tracing Rebetiko and Women's Memory
Women of Rebetiko
Women of Rebetiko is an independent music, storytelling, and research project that brings the stories of women who shaped rebetiko music in the first half of the 20th century into the present. Through their voices, the project invites audiences to explore histories of migration, exile, love, and solidarity.
"A song is never just a melody; sometimes, it carries the memory of a woman, a city, or a journey of displacement."
